TAKAY FOODS READY-TO-BLEND MAKES HIGH-PROTEIN TREATS & DRINKS

Takay Foods is an Ecuadorian start-up that upcycles what would otherwise be wasted tropical fruit and turns it into Ready-to-Blend Ice Cream & Smoothie Mixes. These mixes are high in protein, packed with fiber, vegan, gluten-free and made without added sugars, preservatives or artificial ingredients.

The all-natural complete superfood meals help to make the most of ingredients like bananas that are deemed too thick, mangoes that are too small and other fruits that don’t meet export standards. Takay Foods assembles different combinations of fruits to form flavors like Mint Cacao Nib, Guava Trip and Tropical Coffee, which can be made in two ways—with a blender, the mixes can be used to prepare a superfood smoothie and with a food processor, a nourishing plant-based frozen treat can be made in an instant.

EATSCRAPS – FOOD FOR GOOD

Scraps was started to address the food waste issue by creating the most delicious frozen pizza out there. Setting out to reduce waste by incorporating imperfect and underused veggies in our sauces. For example, did you know broccoli actually has edible leaves and a pepper can grow multi-colored? They use these delicious and nutritious vegetables that are often left in the field, for no good reason, to make Scraps. So enjoy a slice, and feel confident that you did good for yourself and for the planet.

SUPERFRAU

Superfrau is a shout out to the female cow and all the nutrition she provides, partnering with cheese and yogurt makers to upcycle their fresh whey so none of the hard work and energy that goes into milking cows is wasted. “Frau” means “woman” in German (which is the official language of Austria, although if you go to Michael’s remote Alpine village, the dialect is so intense, it’s arguably a completely different language).

This drink isn’t just for all the superfraus out there though. It’s for those of us that care both about what we put in our body, and the environment we play in. Who knew curbing food waste could taste so good?!

¡YAPPAH!

While upcycled foods tend to be plant-based, Yappah Chicken Crisps are one of the exceptions. These chips are made with chicken breast and tapioca flour, plus rescued vegetable purees (leftover from juicing) and spent malted barley (from beer brewing). The crisps are a savory, protein-packed snack—varieties range from 8 to 10 grams of protein per serving. As a bonus, they’re packaged in recyclable aluminum cans to avoid adding to plastic waste.

Snack like it’s on Purpose, with Purpose

By rescuing delicious, forgotten foods such as spent malted barley from beer brewing or vegetable puree from juicing, Yappah® Chicken Crisps help fight food waste! These ingredients are what make our crisps distinctly unique in taste, nutritional value and impact, helping us use our ingredients to their fullest potential. Also, we package our crisps in a 100% Recyclable aluminum can to fight single use plastic waste.
