With a selection of waste materials, collected from six different local industries, M.U.S. has developed the collection Odds & Ends. The idea has been to explore the conditions for design within the framework of circular economy.

M.U.S. has experimented and explored how the waste material can be reintroduced into the production of local industries. How it through simple means can be processed and assembled into new decorative home objects.

The collection consists of 11 objects where all are assembled in a way that makes it possible to separate the pieces again.

“Malmö Upcycling Service´s aim is to change the perception of waste. To see it as an asset rather than an unwanted bi-product. A resource, which can be put back into the manufacturing process, working towards a so called circular manufacturing.”

“The Odds and Ends collection will be exhibited at Butiken Republiken during Sthlm Design Week 5-11/2 2018. Welcome to visit!”

The collaboration aims to rethink design processes, question the role of the designer and democratize production methods. With recycled materials as a base for local production it is possible to make personal and unique products on a small scale.
